AMX TOUCH SCREEN
The AMX touch screen consists of 8 to 15 possible SOURCE menus (depending on room), each with its own "buttons." An explanation of each menu follows:

Each room's AMX touch screen is a little different (some may have more options than others, the menu names may vary slightly). |
Displays the room number, and provides access to the TIME and DATE. Provides access to SOURCES.

ELO MAIN MENU:
Displays the room number, and provides access to the TIME and DATE. Provides access to SOURCE which are displayed in the target area. Touching teh targer area will display source full screen. Simply touch full screen source to access the main menu.

Displays a typical VCR control panel. Press the "button" which corresponds to the desired task (PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, REW, FFWD).
Allows the user to change channels up or down.

2) Press PC COMPUTER "button" (sorry, no MACs, yet)

1) Make sure a Laptop Computer has been plugged into the appropriate port
2) Verify Laptop Computer is ON

The user is responsible for knowing how to "Port-Out" his/her Laptop Computer before class. |
3) Press corresponding "button" (PC COMPUTER or MACINTOSH)
4) Select a DESTINATION ("VIEW IMAGE ON:" subsection)

Please remember to disconnect the Laptop before leaving the classroom.

The Document Camera is not controlled by the AMX touch screen -- it is controlled manually.

Some rooms are equipped with a Room Camera for the purpose of recording lectures. The pan-tilt control for the Room Camera is located in the Rear Booth Equipment Rack.
1) Insert video cassette into VCR in Rear Booth Equipment Rack
2) Adjust pan (left-right) and tilt (up-down) of Room Camera
3) To control VCR, press appropriate "button" on AMX touch screen

Allows user to control Projection Screen and room lighting:
SCENE 1: all lights ON
SCENE 2: lighting appropriate for video projection
SCENE 3: lighting appropriate for slide projection
SCENE 4: all lights OFF

VIDEO PROJECTOR:
POWER ON: Turns Video Projector ON
POWER OFF: Turns Video Projector OFF
STANDBY: Puts Video Projector into "sleep" mode. Ceases output of projected image to Projection SCREEN and brings lights up to SCENE 1 (all lights ON).

For short breaks in lecture, do not turn Video Projector OFF -- use STANDBY. The Video Projector requires 60 seconds to warm-up. |

MONITORS:
POWER ON: Turns monitors ON
POWER OFF: Turns monitors OFF
